The Palgrave Encyclopedia to Global Crime Fiction

The Palgrave Encyclopedia to Global Crime Fiction is a very cool and ambitious project from Stewart King and Jesper Gulddal. A ‘living reference work’, which means it’s continously updated as new instalments are ready, it has just launched. The encyclopedia is a huge undertaking, covering crime fiction as a global phenomenon, with entries on multiple countries, transnational and international themes, and key authors from a global perspective.

I’m extremely excited to have provided the entry for Agatha Christie. This ten-page essay considers Christie’s life, work, and influence on British and international crime fiction, and was a great excuse to revisit some of the excellent work being done on translation. Stewart King edited my work, and it was such a pleasure to be involved.

You can find the entry, and keep up to date with the encyclopaedia, here.
